Is your nose running all the time? Is it just certain times of the year that your eyes are red and swollen? Is your head or chest always congested? Are people saying, “You always have a cold”? Do you say, “I have sinus problems?” Have you visited your family doctor several times to have the same medications given to you? Do you buy a ton of over the counter allergy medications? Are you always using a netty pot? Do you have to have tissues somewhere close? Do you always have a postnasal drip irritating your throat? Do you refrain from outdoor sports or enjoying nature because of your symptoms?
Maybe you should consider being treated naturally for your allergies. If you have red watery eye, dry eyes from all the congestion, maybe you should be treated for allergies. If you are constantly spitting or coughing maybe you should be treated for allergies.
Many people respond to environmental allergies like pollen or dust because the person’ s inflammation levels is very high due to consuming foods they are sensitive to. Many patients after learning their food allergens have no allergy symptoms and remain symptom free for years.
An allergy can be a serious medical condition because the job of the body’s immune system is to identify and destroy germs such as bacteria and viruses that make you sick. A food allergy results when the immune system produces abnormally large amounts of an antibody. The body can respond to an allergen several different ways. Unfortunately when most doctors test for allergens they only test IgE, which is an immediate reaction to an allergen. Many patients have delayed sensitivity IgG allergens. So that means hours later they can respond to the allergen. Other people have IgA allergens more specific to mucosal membranes.
Personally, I suffered for years with a constant runny nose. I visited many specialists to try to get relief from my allergens. It wasn’t until I started using natural therapies I was able to be symptom free. Now I am able to go outside in spring and breath clearly. At Global Integrative Medicine we treat many patients with food or seasonal allergies. Both types of allergens respond well to natural treatments.
Wishing you health and happiness and enjoying the great outdoors!
