UlcerativeColitis (UC) is a chronic condition in which mucosal membranes of the colon become inflamed. Patient’s symptoms can range from bloody diarrhea, pain, gas, bloating, and hard stools. Traditional medicine says the “cause” is unknown. A gastroenterologist generally diagnoses patients and the diagnosis is confirmed via a colonoscopy.
UC symptoms can be mild to very severe. Many patients accept UC as “incurable” and plan to stay on medications for the rest of their life. Traditional doctors prescribe amino salicylates and if those fail will give prednisone. Prednisone has very unpleasant side effects if used long term. Patients who come to us have been switched from medication to medication and have received several hospitalizations. During patient “flare ups” increasing the dosage of their current medications or adding new ones often treats them. During hospitalizations patients are usually delivered more steroids via the blood stream. If the patient continues to have symptoms, surgery is usually recommended. However, at Global Integrative Medicine, where we specialize in digestive disorders naturally we have treated thousands of patients who remain symptom free of their UC.
Ulcerative Colitis is inflammation of the GI tract. It is our job to find the cause of the inflammation. If we are able to find the cause we may be able to totally reverse the symptoms of the disease and make your digestive tract healthy again! We have treated thousands of GI patients successfully who all came with a diagnosis of “incurable”.
Wishing you health and happiness and an open mind of exploring different methods of curing your condition!
